This area is located in the southern part of Kailua bay. The ocean boundaries are from the Mokulua Islands to Flat Island and include the coral reefs that fronts the neighborhood of Lanikai from Wailea Point to Alala Point. We have named itAkamai Keiki Bay because we want to keep it protected for children of Hawaii to be able to learn about the ocean and marine life. We think this can be a place where classrooms can come to participate in various activities to better understand our island waters. This will require the commitment of an entire community to keep this area clean and protected.

Did you know that fisheries help to maintain a coral reef ecosystem?,

Akamai Keiki Bay Rules

Dear Department of Education ,
We live on an island of o'ahu and are surrounded by the waters of the Pacific Ocean. Even though our island is so unique , we do not physically get to explore it. We think that we should be able to learn about fishes and coral and other recreational activities first hand. You may be asking yourselves why we should do this? Well , we tell you why. To explore, to learn firsthand rather than on a computer or in a textbook. This would be an excellent opportunity for schools on O'ahu. Please take this into consideration.
Sincerely,
The Keiki of Hawai'i

Remeber that coral is a living thing and that you shouldn't step on it. Some fish are endangered and you shouldn't catch a fish that is endangered. Don't catch a baby fish. Catch a more grown fish so that baby fish can grow into adults and create multiples.
